Police are looking for a man calling himself a "Jew hater" who is accused of attacking two Jewish women outside Congregation Beth Shalom synagogue on Lincoln in Oak Park.

Police tell the Detroit Free Press that about 9 a.m. last Thursday, a man in a Chevy SUV drove into the synagogue parking lot outside the synagogue and called a woman a "baby killer" and an epithet. He also threw an object at a synagogue employee and hit her.

Oak Park Police Lt. Ryan Bolton tells the Freep the man fled before police arrived.

The incident comes as the war in Gaza continues to draw strong reaction and protests in Metro Detroit and far beyond.

The man, desribed as white with dark hair and a long beard, was driving a dark-colored 2008 to 2012 Chevy Traverse with a heavy dent on the front passenger door.

Oak Park Police said anyone with information about the incident should call 248-691-7511.
