Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance came Wednesday to Byron Township, just south of Grand Rapids, vowing to restore manufacturing in America while pointing to Michigan as a prime example of "what is broken about American policy in Washington.”

“We’re going to take back the White House, we’re going to restore American manufacturing, we’re going to restore our whole country and it’s going to start right here in the state of Michigan,” Vance said before a group of a few hundred supporters at Cordes, Inc., a materials trucking company, according to Wood TV.

"Thanks to a generation of failed leadership, Michigan has seen thousands of manufacturing jobs disappear," he said, according to the Detroit News. "We have got to do better.

"Michigan, people used to call it a blue wall state. I think Michigan is a red wall state now because people are sick of losing their livelihoods and losing their jobs."

"Kamala Harris has no vision."

A recent New York Times/Siena poll showed Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump by 4 percentage points, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points.

Some reports have also said that Ohio, where Vance is from, which has been traditionally a Red State, could be in play.
