Erwin Wilson, 31, was sentenced to three years in prison last week in Macomb County Circuit Court for allegedly stealing tens of thousands of dollars in frozen fish from his employer, Lipari Foods of Warren in May 2023, the Oakland Press reports.
He was also ordered to repay $67,500 in restitution to Lipari Foods.
Wilson had pleaded no contest, which means a defendant neither admits nor denies criminal charges, but accepts the punishment as if guilty.
He was accused of loading the frozen fish from a company warehouse into a Cadillac Escalade in May 2023.
In addition to the latest sentence, Wilson is serving 5 years and 10 months to 20 years for a first-degree home invasion in 2016 in Chesterfield Township. He was released on parole but was re-jailed after his arrest on allegations of stealing frozen fish, the publication reports.
